It’s Not a Time to Divide Our World

The weather is just starting to change, and so is our world. Spring is a time for significant change, growth, and renewal. That is what is happening right now. Can you believe it was only a few weeks ago that we all lived another life? We had jobs. We went out to eat. We went to the grocery when we needed food. We spent too much time working and not enough time enjoying life. All of a sudden, the world as we know it is gone. This event has been swift and fierce. Our way of life, our country, and our people have been “attacked.” Everything is messy, and we don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring. What happened to our very safe, somewhat comfortable existence?

Is COVID-19 responsible, or something much bigger going on? Fear-based manipulation is quietly taking away all our human freedoms. Right now, we are all experiencing significant loss — the loss of our ordinary existence and our way of life. It is all very unexpected. With this loss, has come great emotional turmoil and anxiety. We see things we have not seen for a while (if ever). In essence, empty shelves at the grocery store, loss of simple necessities, immediate loss of income, forced re-organization of family, neighborly chats, boredom, loss of control, fear-based existence, re-connection with nature,… Some of these things are good, some are terrifying.

Fear-based messages are bombarding us. Each side is keeping it going as they strive to meet their political agenda.

Is this what we need? Does this have to do with politics? Where is this all going? We see the fear and concern in the eyes of our community as we look at the empty shelves, as we lose our jobs, as we lose our freedom. Now we see our whole world disintegrate before us along with our independence. This disruption happened in the blink of an eye. How can the destruction of any country happen in so little time with so little fight? How did we get so complacent? We’ve let one organization run our lives. They are taking our human dignity, and they keep us from knowing or understanding the real reason for this massive shift in the world.

We can still decide how we want to deal with this. We can fight the fear and let our human strength shine. We can see the new path in front of us. The way that leads us to the things that are always important. We can open our eyes and look at what is happening now! All it takes is for people to start paying attention so that we may decide the real truth of what is happening.

Here are a few things to think about now:

1. How was/is your life?

2. Do you appreciate what you have?

3. When was the last time you reconnected with family or friends?

4. Have you recently enjoyed the simple things in life?

5. Are you aware of what is happening, and do you take a stand for what you believe?

I’m scared. I don’t know what tomorrow brings, but it won’t be anything like I’ve known. However, I’m paying attention, and I know the truth of what is happening will come out soon. When it does, we have to be prepared to fight for and keep those things that mean something to us.
